Hurricane Sandy caused a lot of pain and destruction during her time here. Some were able to benefit from the storm. Here are just a few South Florida surfers having fun at Hollywood and Dania beach Florida on October 28, 2012.

St. Patricks Day 2012

One week before St. Patricks Day 2012, Hollywood Florida held a St. Patricks Day parade. It was a little difficult, at first, getting into the spirit. That didn't last long as we walked into the sea of green heading for our usual spot to watch the parade. Everyone was Irish this day and green beer was never more than a few feet away. The pre-parade was nice. A stage was set up at one end of the main street, Hollywood blvd., and musicians were playing as the young children danced authentic Irish steps. Crowds gathered and watched cheering them on. It seemed  everyone had a smile this day. Ten minutes until show time we zigzagged through the crowd and made it to our spot. Excitement filled the air as the first walkers came down the road tossing green beads to those along the side lines watching. The children had the best of fun, as it should be and the adults were not far behind. This was the first year we did not bring at least one of our cameras. I then realized that my cell phone  had video and photo capability. Here is a little of what I shot with my palm pre phone.
